Employee productivity is very important for any business that wants results, your business should also be people-centric. Employees are the drivers of your business goals and objectives. Hence, employee productivity is very strategic.

Many businesses forget employees are humans and they have needs by virtue of them being human. Though needs are variable, basic activities like good working conditions or incentives are part of the measures that can do the trick.

BELOW ARE SOME TIPS TO BOOST EMPLOYEE PRODUCTIVITY

1.      TRAIN, TRAIN AND RETRAIN:

No employee likes not knowing what to do or how to do it better when given a task, not knowing what to do reduces their productivity. But when the employee is trained and given the right tools, the employee would be productive because training gives confidence.

2.      PAYMENT WHEN DUE AND INCENTIVES:

When employees are paid what is due to them at the right time regularly, there is a feeling of confidence when the employee knows his payment is certain when due.

In addition, if you adopt giving incentives to certain tasks (e.g. bringing in new sales, solving a problem e.t.c), when the employee knows he has additional payment aside from his or her salary, such employees would be elated and boost productivity.

3.      SHOW THEM YOU CARE:

If you constantly or periodically check on the well-being of your employees, you are telling them you care about what they are going through. As humans, when we receive care, we tend to like who shows us care (in this context, the boss or company), such employee feels attached to the company which boost employee productivity and can also cultivate loyalty.

Let them you’ve got their back morally.

4.      COMMUNICATE EFFECTIVELY AND REGULARLY:

        i.            Put in place different forms of communication.

ii.            Always listen to feedback and answer questions.

iii.            Ensure the information is presented in a positive and clear way.

5.      FLEXIBLE WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

Give your employees the flexibility to work from anywhere, not all employees can be productive when they come to the office, hours lost in commuting can be utilized to deliver on assigned tasks. What you should rather focus on are their results.
